Hi - I see what you mean extra hassle. I thought it was working fine, but the inside router has given up on fragmentation all together. Very strange indeed.

Paul: They're not interchangable, as they're different on the wire. On the other hand, any good DSL provider will let you use whichever you prefer, as it's so easy to autodetect, and if you want to face the extra hassle of PPPoE, that's your problem.

Thanks Simon. Very useful as I didn't realise pppoe and pppoatm are interchangable (more or less). I was having a heck of a time trying to work out how to get an ADSL outside IP onto a firewall/router - bit of bridging on the ADSL router, and running a ppoclient on the router and it all works hunky dory.
